Why pavers around a pool

A pool deck lives the hardest life of any paved surface on the property: soaked and dried daily, splashed with treated water, baked from above, and walked barefoot. Pavers suit that life. Light colors and dense stone — travertine especially — shed heat well enough to cross comfortably in high summer. Textured surfaces grip wet feet where painted surfaces slick over. Joints drain splash-out instead of sheeting it toward the lanai. And years from now, when a sprinkler line under one corner has its moment, that corner comes up and goes back down — the repair is invisible because it’s made from the deck itself.

Working around what’s already there

Most of our pool-deck work happens at existing pools: tired decks getting a proper floor at last. We set pavers over the old deck where its condition and heights allow, or take the old surface out and build from base where they don’t — the visit settles which, honestly. We fit to coping cleanly, work inside screen enclosures without loosening a single spline, and coordinate with pool contractors when a bigger poolside project is underway. Division of labor, stated plainly: the pool shell, its finish, and its waterline are pool-company work; the deck around the pool is ours. Each trade where it belongs.
